Who We Are
About The Legion
The Legion of Black Collegians (LBC) takes pride in working to develop a lasting appreciation of social, moral, intellectual, and most of all, cultural values that will uplift Black students in pursuit of academia, and heighten the cultural consciousness of all students in all aspects of student life. We are the leading voice on campus working to eradicate ignorance and promote positive change through education, motivation and advocacy for Black students at Mizzou.
The Legion currently has five standing committees: Communications, Activities, Finance, Political, and Freshman Action Team. LBC plans, funds and executes programs and activities to enhance the experience that African American students have at Mizzou.

Our Origins
The Legion of Black Collegians was formed by the men of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. in 1968 and serves as a voice for Black students here on the University of Missouri- Columbia campus. LBC is the official Black student government at Mizzou. The Legion was officially recognized by the University as a government May 19, 1969.
LBC was organized with the intent to give African American students a voice in student government. The group acts as a social and political organization to promote the African American experience. Since its beginnings, the Legion has stood behind its purpose and mission to help African Americans on the MU Campus.
