Candlelight Vigil in Honor of Dr. Arvarh E. Strickland

The Legion of Black Collegians and iGuide joined forces to host a candlelight vigil on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 in honor of the late Dr. Arvarh E. Strickland.

Dr. Strickland was the first black faculty member at the University of Missouri in 1969. Dr. Strickland worked in the History Department and also help establish the Black Studies program at MU. He not only helped recruit other African American professors, but he served as a mentor to many students.

The vigil honored his accomplishments with prayer, performances, and speakers.
